How to photograph a palm for reading

Practical lighting and framing tips for palm photos: clear lines, natural color, privacy-minded capture for web or app readings.

A good palm photo makes lines readable without harsh glare. You do not need a studio. Soft side light, a steady hand, and a calm background are enough for learning and for a digital reading.

Lighting and angle

Stand near a window or lamp that lights the palm from the side. Avoid overhead flash that flattens ridges. Hold the phone above the palm, not from a sharp side angle. Keep fingers gently open.

Checklist before upload

Lines visible. No heavy blur. Natural skin color. Whole palm in frame. Dominant hand first if you only take one shot. Then compare with the other hand later.
